Information on the Origins of the surname ESSERY
A copy of the diary my Father, Albert Edward ESSERY (1905-1969), made on a Voyage from Liverpool to the Mediterranean and back to Liverpool between July and September 1919 when he was 14 years of age. He was sent alone on this voyage as a character building exercise just weeks after the end of the First World War.
A schedule of the voyages my Grandfather, John Edward ESSERY (1864-1940), made as a merchant mariner between the years 1884 and 1896 when he qualified as Master Mariner - these voyages took him to America - both North & South, India and the Mediterranean - one day I will find out what happened in the River Plate in June 1887!
